Phillip K. Smith, III has designed and built public art projects all
over the United States and has been part of design teams for civic,
commerical, educational, and religious buildings. In addition, he is
also the founding principal of the award winning, multi-disciplinary
design firm, The Art Office, concentrating on design and architecture
projects nationally and internationally.
The Art Office has collaborated with Martinez-Kuch Architects to create
several notable architectural projects including the Family Life Center
at the Palm Desert Community Presbyterian Church, Contreras Construction
Company’s headquarters, and master planning and architectural design
for the new Coachella Valley Rescue Mission’s homeless shelter facility.
In addition, Smith III has worked on several distinguished design projects,
such as the flagship store for Trina Turk Residential in Palm Springs,
CA and the conceptual facade design for a renewable energy source power
plant outside of Toronto, Canada.
The work of The Art Office includes master planning, collaborative
architectural projects, interior design, custom furniture and lighting,
graphics, and design consultation.
